DYNASTS OF LYCIA. Mithrapata, circa 390-370 BC. Stater (Silver, 24 mm, 9.85 g, 10 h), uncertain mint (Zagaba or Phellos?). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. πŠŽπŠ†-[πŠ‰]πŠ•πŠ€-πŠ“πŠ€πŠ—πŠ€ ('mithrapata' in Lycian) Bearded head of Mithrapata to left; behind, triskeles; all within incuse square. Mildenberg, Mithrapata, pl. XXXIV, 3 (O2/R2). MΓΌseler VII, 67-68 (same dies). Podalia 37-40 (A2/P2). SNG von Aulock 4237 (same dies). A beautifully toned example with a splendid portrait and an extensive pedigree.
